Welcome to the Republic of Talossa

We Talossans hereby declare that we are a free people and a free community and, above all, a free nation dedicated to Talossan ideals. —Proclamation of Independence, 1 June 2004

WITTENBERG HAS MOVED. PLEASE SET YOUR BROWSER BOOKMARKS TO THE NEW ADDRESS OF THE REPUBLIC'S DISCUSSION FORUMS.

In Talossa, every citizen counts. When you are a Talossan, you are not just a number. Want to take the President to task? Just call him out on our discussion board, Wittenberg. He won't be annoyed - too much.

Talossan politics goes through frequent upheavals, as long-serving Deputies and Ministers bow out (or are put out!), alliances form and collapse, and new parties spring up to take the place of their obsolete predecessors.

Talossan voters like a bit of humour in their politics. They like politicians who talk about issues relevant to Talossa. They tend to mistrust radical proposals for change, as well as ideas which are not adapted to the temper and the conditions of the Republic. New ideas are more than welcome - just don't expect immediate support unless you build alliances and demonstrate how your scheme can benefit the Republic.

As the red on our flag indicates, Talossans are a passionate people who are swayed by fine rhetoric and fierce commitment. Politicians in Talossa tend to take no prisoners, but often end up working together once the wounds have healed.

And as the green on our flag indicates, we Talossans are a passionate people where our history and culture are concerned. We have a passion for the beautiful and expressive Talossan language - or El Ghleţ Talossán.
